By MJP Media | 3 April 2011
Matt Neal wins the 3rd race at Brands Hatch whilst Jason Plato leads the championship.
Matt Neal wins the final race of the day
Race 3 saw the lottery of the reverse grid come into play with Matt Neal on pole in the Team Dynamics Honda Civic alongside Andrew Jordan in the Vectra. Paul O'Neill and James Nash started on the 2nd row with championship leader Jason Plato on row 4.
Everyone got a clean start off the line, although James Nash went off line and fell well back. Matt Neal out front was benefiting from clear air as Jason Plato started to move through the field. By lap 4 he was up from 8th to 5th and right behind Mat Jackson's Ford Focus.
At the halfway stage, Andrew Jordan was putting pressurise on Matt Neal but for the second time in 3 races he had to pit as a result of a puncture, elevating Mat Jackson to 2nd and Paul O'Neill to 3rd.
The race finished with victory for Matt Neal ahead of Mat Jackson and Paul O'Neill with Gordon Shedden 4th and Jason Plato 5th.
After the first meeting of the season, Jason Plato heads the championship on 38 points with Mat Jackson on 30 and James Nash on 26. The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship now heads to Donington Park on April 17.
