Gordon Shedden is well placed to challenge for the 2011 BTCC title
Following the excitement of the previous meeting at Snetterton, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship now heads to Knockhill in Scotland on September 3rd and 4th for the next meeting of the 2011 season.
Having briefly led the championship after winning the second of the three races at Snetterton, local hero Gordon Shedden (also known as 'Flash') will arrive at his home circuit only 8 points adrift of championship leader Mat Jackson, giving the Scot from Dalgety Bay the best opportunity in over a decade for a Scottish driver to take the BTCC crown.
Also looking forward to a good showing at their home track will be Inverness based driver Dave Newsham in his Special Tuning Racing SEAT Leon. Newsham had his best ever BTCC meeting last time out at Snetterton, scoring points in all 3 races.
With just 20 points covering the top 4 drivers, this year's championship is closer than ever with Mat Jackson leading Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal and defending champion Jason Plato.
For tickets to what is sure to be a thrilling event, visit the Knockhill Circuit web site at www.knockhill.com or call the circuit on 01383 723337. Full race day coverage can be seen in ITV4.
Dave Newsham will be looking to continue his run of success
