By MJP Media | 2 October 2011

Neal and Shedden deliver a 1-2 finish for the Honda Racing Team
With the reverse grid system reversing the top 10 finishers from race 2, Nick Foster set off from pole position for the third and final race of the day from Brands Hatch, however before the end of the first lap the Honda Racing duo of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden had passed not only Foster but also Andy Neate to take the top 2 positions.
The Honda team-mates held the lead to the end of the race, with Gordon Shedden briefly leading a lap to gain an extra championship point. Further down the grid, Jason Plato struggled from his 10th place start, initially slipping back a place but slowly gaining places as the race progressed to finish 6th.
As the race settled down, the battle for 3rd was between the Ford Focus of Andy Neate, the Vauxhall Vectra of James Nash and the Ford Focuses of Tom Chilton and Mat Jackson. Andy Neate looked set to take 3rd however his retirement on lap 14 allowed James Nash to take the final podium position. At the chequered flag it was a victory for Matt Neal with Gordon Shedden 2nd and James Nash 3rd. Tom Chilton finished 4th ahead of Mat Jackson in 5th and Jason Plato in 6th.
Matt Neal now regains the lead in the championship on 225 points with Jason Plato and Gordon Shedden joint 2nd on 220 points. With a maximum of 52 points available from the final 3 races of the season, Mat Jackson and James Nash are also mathematically capable of lifting the 2011 BTCC trophy.
The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship now heads to Silverstone in Northamptonshire for the final meeting of the 2011 season on 15th and 16th October. With 5 drivers capable of winning the championship and just 5 points covering the top 3, it's sure to be another exciting climax to a fantastic season for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
