After 27 races on 9 different circuits, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is all set for a final showdown to decide who will be the 2011 BTCC champion as Silverstone in Northamptonshire plays host for the final meeting of the year on October 15th and 16th.

Following a fantastic season of bumper-to-bumper action, 5 drivers are still in with a chance of lifting the 2011 BTCC trophy. Currently leading the championship is Matt Neal driving a Honda Racing Team Civic but team-mate Gordon Shedden and defending BTCC champion Jason Plato are in joint 2nd place just 5 points behind. Also in contention for the title are Mat Jackson driving an Airwaves Racing Ford Focus and James Nash driving an 888 with Collins Contractors Vauxhall Vectra.

Jason Plato is expecting a tough time in his Silverline Chevrolet Cruze, saying "Silverstone is going to be ideally suited for cars with turbo engines, which we don't have. It will need something very strange to happen there to stop the Hondas". The BTCC is renowned for its ability to throw up surprises so his wish could easily come true!

Silverstone is an ideal venue to host the British Touring Car Championship showdown, so don't miss out on the action. For tickets to what is sure to be a thrilling climax to the 2011 season, visit www.silverstone.co.uk or call the Ticket Hotline on 0844 3750 740. Full race day action can be seen live on ITV4 with regular reports and updates posted here throughout the weekend.
