In another thrilling race from Silverstone, Honda Racing once again took a 1-2 victory in the penultimate race of the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Starting on the front row of the grid, both Hondas got away well however Gordon Shedden soon passed his team-mate and pole-sitter Matt Neal to take the lead. Tom Onslow-Cole also started well from 4th on the grid and passed Matt Neal to move into 2nd place. Neal re-took the lead on lap 4 and despite putting pressure on Shedden could not find a way past. The Honda pair held their positions to the end of the race with maximum points going to Gordon Shedden.

With Tom Onslow-Cole taking 3rd for Team Aon, Dave Newsham finished in an excellent 4th place for Special Tuning Racing from 6th on the grid. Andrew Jordan finished 5th for Pirtek Racing with Tom Boardman completing the top 6.

Frank Wrathall had an unfortunate start to the race when, after a collision, he was forced into the pits twice in 3 laps with his passenger door flapping open. Jason Plato drove a brilliant race from 25th on the grid to finish 7, however with the Honda drivers in dominant form, the Silverline Chevrolet driver is now out of the championship battle.

After 29 races on 10 circuits, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will be a two horse race between the Honda Racing drivers, decided in the final race of the year later this afternoon. Matt Neal is only 6 points ahead of team-mate Gordon Shedden with 17 points available. The reverse grid system will see Neal starting the deciding race 8th on the grid with Shedden only one place behind in 9th. It's going to be another thrilling climax for the British Touring Car Championship!
