Team HARD. purchase 2 Vauxhall Insignias from Thorney Motorsport
By MJP Media | 16 October 2012
Tony Gilham and Team HARD. have announced that they have today purchased 2 Vauxhall Insignia VXR-R British Touring Car Championship cars from Thorney Motorsport - a race car and a spare shell.
Team HARD. will race the Honda Civic and Vauxhall Insignia at Brands Hatch
Team owner, Tony Gilham said, "Having driven the car at both Snetterton and Silverstone under the TMS banner, although it felt good we didn't get the results that we had hoped, but I know that with the knowledge that we gained and the set up that we have, the car will have the ability to be competitive and have regular top 10 finishes and I'm sure a few podiums along the way.
Everybody wants to put their own stamp and mark on things, which I'm sure people will see when we go to Brands Hatch.

NGTC is the immediate future for British Touring Cars and we at Team HARD. want to continue the progress that we have already made in our first year as a stand-alone BTCC team, hence why we have made this move. Our long-term plan is to build our own race cars, but in order to ensure that we are ready for next season, we decided to buy the Insignias.
During the close season, we plan to do a lot of development and modifications to the car and testing in order to be at the sharp end when the 2013 BTCC season starts."

As for the final meeting of the 2012 season at Brands Hatch this weekend, Tony Gilham will be driving the NGTC-spec Vauxhall Insignia whilst newcomer Aaron Williamson will be driving the team's S2000-spec Honda Civic. Both cars are currently white, however Gilham has said that the colour scheme could change yet.
