Dave Newsham and Mat Jackson top the timesheets in free practice at a bitterly cold Donington Park.
Dave Newsham is fastest in free practice
At a bright but bitterly cold Donington Park circuit, Mat Jackson posted the fastest time in the first free practice session in his Redstone Racing Ford Focus. Just behind Jackson was the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic of Andrew Jordan. Defending champion Matt Neal was 3rd fastest with his Honda Yuasa Racing team-mate Gordon Shedden 4th in their Honda Civics.
Mat Jackson topped the timesheets in the first session
Jason Plato, who currently leads the championship following the first meeting two weeks ago, was 6th fastest in his MG KX Momentum Racing MG6, just behind the Redstone Racing Ford Focus of Aron Smith in 5th.
The second free practice session was just as cold as the first with drivers improving on their times from the first session. Dave Newsham from Inverness topped the timesheet in his Team ES Racing.com Vauxhall Vectra, again demonstrating the form he showed at Brands Hatch. Matt Neal was 2nd fastest ahead of Jason Plato in 3rd. Andrew Jordan ended the second practice session in 4th place ahead of the Redstone Racing Ford Focus of Mat Jackson in 5th and Gordon Shedden in 6th in the Honda Yuasa Racing Civic.

The all-important qualifying session is next which will determine the grid for the first race tomorrow. With 5 different teams posting the top 5 times in free practice, the qualifying session is sure to be an exciting event.
