Jason Plato secures pole position for MG in qualifying
As the cold weather continued and a light drizzle fell, the drivers nervously began their qualifying session to determine the grid for the first race from Donington Park.
Gordon Shedden puts his Honda Civic on the front row of the grid
As the slippery conditions caused problems for several drivers, Jason Plato set the fastest time in his MG KX Momentum Racing MG6, securing pole position for the first race tomorrow. Gordon Shedden was only 5/100ths of a second adrift in the Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civic and will join Plato on the front row of the grid.
Matt Neal qualified 3rd in the other Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civic with the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic of Andrew Jordan 4th. Row 3 will be occupied by the eBay Motors BMW 320si of Rob Collard and the Redstone Racing Ford Focus of Mat Jackson following their 5th and 6th places in qualifying.
Matt Neal will start race 1 from the 2nd row of the grid
With the top ten drivers all qualifying within a second of Jason Plato's pole position time, the scene is set for a day of close and exciting racing from Donington Park tomorrow. Follow the action from all three races in these pages.
