With just 3 meetings left on the 2012 calendar, the battle for the championship title is extremely close. Honda Yuasa Racing team-mates Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden are currently at the top of the standings with Neal just 10 points ahead of Shedden. Currently in 3rd place, MG KX Momentum Racing's Jason Plato is 26 points behind Shedden with Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan just 4 points behind Plato, but with a possible 67 points up for grabs from each of the remaining 3 meetings, the championship is still wide open.

Following their absence at the Knockhill rounds, Rob Austin Racing will return to action at Rockingham with their pair of Audi A4s driven by team boss Rob and Will Bratt, who joined Rob at the Oulton Park and Croft rounds. At Croft, Austin took his team's first podium of the 2012 season and with Rockingham's unique circuit layout likely to suit the rear-wheel-drive NGTC-spec Audi, the team will be looking to repeat or even better their 2nd place result at last year's meeting. The team have confirmed that Bratt will also contest the two final rounds for Rob Austin Racing at Silverstone and Brands Hatch in October.

Rockingham is different to other circuits as it is the only one on the BTCC calendar that has a banked track. This, in addition to its long straights, fast corners and hairpin bends makes for extremely exciting motor racing. Spectator facilities are excellent and include grandstands which afford views of almost the entire circuit.

For tickets to what is sure to be a thrilling event, visit the Rockingham web site. With free admission to accompanied children aged 16 and under, all tickets include access to the vast grandstands as well as the central BTCC paddock and, on Sunday, the specially organised autograph session with the touring car drivers.
