Tony Gilham welcomes Jack Goff to Team HARD.
Buckinghamshire racer Goff recently tested one of the squad's Insignias (pictured) and last night closed a deal with Tony Gilham's outfit that will see him graduate into Britain's premier motor racing championship.
The 21-year-old from High Wycombe told us "It's a dream come true and I'm massively excited about it. I've seen what the team is doing with these cars - it is a complete redevelopment - and I'm confident about my debut season in the BTCC. I'm staying realistic but two of my previous team-mates from Clios, Dave Newsham and Aron Smith, have both won races in the BTCC in 2012. I was a match for them in Clios so I'll be looking to emulate that in 2013."
Jack Goff and Tony Gilham with the Vauxhall Insignia
The Renault Clio Cup has a history of producing top-line BTCC drivers - notable names in recent years include Mat Jackson, Tom Onslow-Cole and Andrew Jordan. Meanwhile, Gilham commented: "Jack is really on a roll having just won the Clio Cup in front of the BTCC crowds and he's just the sort of driver we want in our team as we build for the future. He is tremendously talented and, for his age, also extremely mature in his approach. He is definitely going to be a name to watch for in 2013."
Gilham's Team HARD. plans to enter two Vauxhall Insignias as well as two Volkswagen Passat CCs in the 2013 British Touring Car Championship, both models of car being built to the championship's latest NGTC technical regulations.
