Colin Turkington takes a massive victory as the Dunlop soft tyres steal the show with the top 5 places in the 3rd race from Donington Park.

In the 3rd race of the day it was Tom Onslow-Cole in pole position with Colin Turkington in 2nd, Aron Smith 3rd and Dave Newsham rounding out the top 4. Off the line it was Turkington in the eBay Motors BMW 125M Sport who led into the first corner from Onslow-Cole in the VW Passat with Aron Smith side by side with Dave Newsham fighting for 3rd. As the first lap developed, Smith went 2nd from Onslow-Cole after the Craner Curves and Sam Tordoff took 4th from Newsham. The first lap ended with Frank Wrathall pulling out after sustaining damage to the rear of his Dynojet Toyota Avensis.

On lap 3, Sam Tordoff passed Aron Smith's Airwaves Racing Ford Focus and went 2nd. On the following lap, Adam Morgan took out Dave Newsham from 5th in the middle of the Craner Curves, leaving Colin Turkington leading from Sam Tordoff in the MG KX Momentum Racing MG6, Aron Smith, Tom Onslow-Cole and Adam Morgan.

As the race progressed, Colin Turkington increased his lead and on lap 8 Adam Morgan in the Ciceley Racing Toyota Avensis took 3rd from Aron Smith to leave soft tyred cars in the first 3 places. At the halfway stage, Turkington led by 4.5 seconds from Sam Tordoff whilst Adam Morgan and Gordon Shedden had relegated Aron Smith to 6th place.

At the start of lap 12, Turkington's lead was up to 6 seconds as Gordon Shedden moved up to 3rd when Ollie Jackson spun out. The drama was completed on the last lap when Tom Onslow-Cole re-took Aron Smith whilst Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal passed Sam Tordoff to give Honda Yuasa Racing a double podium.

At the chequered flag, the Dunlop soft tyres had dominated with all top 5 places as Colin Turkington won by a massive 4.41 seconds from Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal, Sam Tordoff and Adam Morgan. Tom Onslow-Cole was the highest placed driver on the standard compound tyres in 6th.

As the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Thruxton on May 4th and 5th, Jason Plato leads the championship on 92 points with Andrew Jordon on 87 and Matt Neal on 78. MG KX Momentum Racing leads the Teams standings on 161 points with Honda Yuasa Racing on 145 and Pirtek Racing on 136.
