Snetterton Preview - WIN TICKETS!
By MJP Media | 23 July 2013
Following its summer break, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship roars back into action at Snetterton in Norfolk on August 3rd and 4th.
Matt Neal currently leads the Drivers' Championship
The British Touring Car Championship resumes on August 3rd and 4th at the popular Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. With excellent spectator facilities, this will be the third year that the BTCC has raced on the '300' circuit layout which has proved to be a real hit with fans and drivers alike.
Following an exciting and closely fought first half of the 2013 season, Honda Civics dominate the top of the championship table with Matt Neal in the lead on 224 points for Honda Yuasa Racing. Just behind the former BTCC champion is Pirtek Pacing's Andrew Jordan on 205 points. As defending Independents' Trophy champion, Jordan is well placed to challenge for the outright Drivers' Championship this year. Completing the Honda Civic trio is defending BTCC champion Gordon Shedden on 188 points.

The Hondas are unlikely to have it all their own way in the second half of the season with former BTCC champions Jason Plato and Colin Turkington currently 4th and 5th respectively in the standings. In the recent testing at Snetterton, Plato and his MG KX Momentum Racing team-mate Sam Tordoff, currently 6th in the standings, ensured that at least one of their MG6s was at the top of the time sheets in each of the timed sessions. Just 4 points behind Plato, Colin Turkington is also a real contender for the 2013 crown following a run of good results in his eBay Motors BMW 125i M Sport.
The battle for the inaugural Jack Sears Trophy for S2000 specification cars is also shaping up nicely with Lea Wood currently ahead with 6 class wins to Liam Griffin's 4. Addison Lee Motorbase driver Griffin was absent from the last meeting at Croft due to business commitments and will be keen gain the upper hand in the second half of the season.
