BMW lose pole position to Mike Rockenfeller's Audi at Brands Hatch as Martin Tomczyk is penalised for a technical irregularity in qualifying for tomorrow's DTM race.

In the qualifying session earlier today, it was Martin Tomczyk who claimed pole position in his BMW M Performance Zubehör M3 DTM however he was later penalised by race officials when his BMW M3 DTM was found to be under the minimum weight limit required for DTM cars and was excluded from the qualifying results.

Tomczyk will now start tomorrow's race from the back of the grid as Mike Rockenfeller's Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM is promoted to pole position with the BMWs of Augusto Farfus and Joey Hand 2nd and 3rd.
