A View From The Driver's Seat: Two weeks into owning the car and things are moving on!

We catch up with Aiden Moffat as his team start preparing his car for the 2014 BTCC season, including a new livery designed by Aiden himself.
The last few weeks since the end of the season have been a real blur. I have been able to finalise my plans for the 2014 season and we have been solidly working on the car since we picked it up. This may sound glamorous, but I have been more involved in getting my school work sorted out to relieve pressure on me in the new year. Balancing my various commitments is important to me and I want to prove to everyone that I can achieve everything I set out to.
The car came back to Scotland as soon as we bought it and we have stripped it down, sorted out as much as we can and repainted it in a new livery designed by yours truly. I know it is unlikely to stay in this colour scheme, but as there has been so much interest in the project I thought it would be good to have something different in the short term.
We are slowly starting to put a team together, but we are very conscious that we need to get the right people. One of the problems of a new start team is that everyone wants to be part of the project, even when they aren't who we are looking for. The last thing we want to do is risk getting someone in place who hasn't the experience to fulfil their role.
This week has been interesting as on Tuesday evening we were invited to go to Aberdeen for a Scottish Motor Racing Club night with lots of Scottish motor racing stars and showed the car in its livery for the first time. That was really nice as we generated lots of interest and the car was very well received. Also on Tuesday we had TOCA's technical chief up to look over what we are doing and we seem to be very much on track for this stage of the development.
Tonight, Thursday, we also showed the car at a local SMRC event and I got the chance to meet a genuine legend of touring cars - John Cleland. When I look at what he achieved, it makes me even more determined to succeed in the championship and I am looking forward to getting the car out for a shakedown and then some serious testing early in the New Year.
If I don't have any news for you in the next couple of weeks, I would like to take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas to you all and I'll see you at Autosport International in January.
