Chris Stockton to race under the Power Maxed banner in 2014
By MJP Media | 15 February 2014
Chris Stockton will return to the BTCC paddock in 2014 to race a Chevrolet Cruze under the Power Maxed Racing banner after his team sealed a partnership with the vehicle cleaning and additive brand.
The Power Maxed brand will support Chris in his 2014 BTCC campaign
The team will be racing an RML designed and powered Cruze Hatchback - the only NGTC Cruze hatchback in existence. The new title sponsor is part of the Automotive Brands group which has already been heavily involved with the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship having backed Tom Onslow-Cole with its Steel Seal brand, before its Power Maxed brand covered Aiden Moffat's switch to a VW Passat late in 2013.
While Power Maxed Racing is a spin off from its core business activity, the brand has committed major sponsorship and youth development in motorsport moving forward. The car will continue with the sponsor's black and yellow livery.
Chris competed in the Le Mans 24 Hour with TVR
Cheshire-based Stockton and his BTC Racing squad have been hard at work for almost a year preparing the car for the 2014 season and the team has confirmed that the machine will be ready to make its public debut at the BTCC Season Launch on 18 March at Donington Park, although it is unlikely to test before then.
Stockton first came to prominence when he completed the Le Mans 24 hour with TVR, before making his BTCC debut in a Ningbo sponsored Lexus iS200 in 2006. Ningbo.co.uk remain one of Chris' main supporters.

"It will be great to be back in the BTCC and in a car that has the reliability and power to give the front teams a run for their money." said Stockton. "I'm thrilled to be working with Power Maxed Racing - both of us have worked tirelessly to create a true partnership and a great platform that will perform on the track but also provide a fantastic marketing platform for Power Maxed."
Adam Weaver, Managing Director of Automotive Brands, owners of the Power Maxed brand said: "We have had a lot of experience with motorsport and touring car sponsorship and know that Chris and his team are the best people to work with in 2014. They have a great car produced by a proven manufacturer in RML and have acquired a fantastic hospitality unit. To top it all off we have been so impressed by the professionalism and desire of not only Chris, but all of his team to be the best, which is also the ethos behind the Power Maxed brand."
