Donington Park Preview - WIN TICKETS!

Andrew Jordan will arrive at Donington Park leading the championship

Donington Park near East Midlands Airport is the venue for the next meeting of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. This historic circuit is a tough technical challenge for the BTCC drivers and their engineers with its fast, open sweeping bends that rise and fall through the circuit's picturesque setting.

Having won the first two races of the season last time out at Brands Hatch, reigning champion Andrew Jordan will arrive at Donington Park in the lead of the Drivers' Championship with 47 points, however the Pirtek Racing driver had better watch his back as there are several former BTCC champions just behind him! Matt Neal is just 2 points off the lead with 45 points whilst his team-mate Gordon Shedden is lying 4th on 40 with eBay Motors' Colin Turkington 3rd, just 1 point behind Neal.

The 2014 BTCC is likely to be a closely fought contest

Jason Plato had mixed fortunes at Brands Hatch and currently sits 5th in the championship, however he is confident that his MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save MG6, which stopped on the grid before the second race of the day, is up to the job. "We've got all the ingredients and we've got the pace - there's no doubt about that, but we need to understand why we keep getting gremlins into the system." said Plato. "We lost at least 17 points because of it - we've got to stop that and then we'll win it - it certainly won't be through lack of pace."

The eBay Motors team got their 2014 BTCC challenge off to a good start with all three of their drivers leaving Brands Hatch in the top ten of the standings. Adam Morgan also opened his account well for the WIX Racing team after an impressive debut for the Mercedes Benz A-Class and currently sits 7th in the championship. With five of the seven former BTCC champions who are competing this year at the top of the table, it was a disappointing opening meeting for the other two with Alain Menu and Fabrizio Giovanardi down in 15th and 16th respectively, however there are 27 races left on the calendar and anything is possible in the BTCC!
