A View From The Driver's Seat: The start of a long term partnership starts today!

Aiden Moffat announces a major sponsorship deal with Laser Tools for his assault on the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship and will race under the 'Laser Tools Racing' banner.
The team has been working really hard on my behalf for the last 3 months with continual ongoing work with the car and lots going on behind the scenes. I am pleased to announce that we have signed a potentially multi-season deal with Laser Tools - www.lasertools.co.uk - and we will be running as 'Laser Tools Racing'. Laser are a massive company who have previously been title sponsors in the World Touring Car Championship, so to have them backing me in the British Touring Car Championship shows that the team and I must be doing something right.
We have recently purchased a fantastic hospitality unit and race truck and I am proud to announce that we have a major sponsor to put on the car and everything else. I am overwhelmed by the faith they have put in me. To get any sponsor on board is humbling, but to get one with the heritage and prestige of Laser Tools is out of this world. This now gives me the backing of one of the biggest tool companies in the business plus the Daily Mirror and Daily Record. Could life get much better?

As Martin Smith, MD of Laser Tools said, "We have been watching Aiden Moffat carefully over the past twelve months. We have had success with WTCC sponsorship over the past few years but have felt that the BTCC series could offer us exciting opportunities. When Aiden announced his plans for 2014 with the NGTC Chevrolet Cruze it was a perfect fit and our partnership with the talented young Scottish driver was formed." Blimey, no pressure there then eh?
Well, that is enough of the big pats on the back for the team and I - we really have to knuckle down now and repay their faith in me and the project. All of my sponsors have agreed deals for 2014 with the option of future years, which suits my plans to be in the BTCC for the next 3 years at least. We are currently in the middle of our car development and testing programme and we will formally unveil the car and its livery at the BTCC media Day at Donington Park in March, before the real action gets under way at Brands Hatch!

I would like to thank Martin and Keith of Laser Tools for their faith in me and the project and for my dad and Mike for bringing this opportunity to completion. All I have to do now is get it as right as I can every time and see if I can show the so-called big boys that there is a new kid who is coming after you. I just can't wait!
