Tom Ingram and Josh Cook confirm their 2015 BTCC drives
By MJP Media | 4 March 2015
Speedworks Motorsport has announced the re-signing of Tom Ingram for a second consecutive year behind the wheel of their Avensis. Power Maxed Racing have welcomed Renault Clio Cup UK star Josh Cook to their team.
Tom Ingram is thrilled to be back at Speedworks Motorsport in 2015
Speedworks Motorsport has announced that they have re-signed Tom Ingram for a second consecutive campaign behind the wheel of its massively updated Toyota Avensis. Speedworks hopes that with Tom's experience from last year they will now be able to break their 5 year wait for a first BTCC podium position. Ingram had fantastic qualifying pace throughout the 2014 season, however this failed to materialise into race day success.
Another important appointment over the winter months at Speedworks was BTCC engineer Geoff Kingston who has instigated a major rethink and update of the Northwich based outfit's old Avensis, providing a mood of quiet optimism that 2015 could just be Speedworks' finest campaign to date. "We're absolutely delighted to have Tom back on-board again!" enthused team principal Christian Dick. "After his standout performance last year, he was always our first choice for 2015 - it's probably fair to say he outperformed the car's capabilities on a number of occasions, so hopefully the upgrades we have made to the Avensis for the forthcoming season will allow him to demonstrate his true talent."

"I'm over the moon to be returning to the BTCC this season and thrilled to be doing so with Speedworks" said Ingram, who was recently reconfirmed as a British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) SuperStar. "The Speedworks guys are a fantastic bunch and I established a great relationship with them last year, and although we did talk to other teams over the off-season, Christian made a very compelling argument to stay!"
Power Maxed Racing is proud to announce that Renault Clio Cup UK Vice Champion Josh Cook will pilot the team's second Chevrolet Cruze for the 2015 season under the new 'RacingforHeroes' banner, the dedicated motorsport fundraising partner of the Help for Heroes charity. The 23-year-old from Bath has been hugely successful in his career to date with multiple championships to his name. In 2014 Josh competed in the UK Clio Cup Championship with an impressive six race wins and the record for the most podium finishes and most laps led.
Both Tom Ingram and Josh Cook hope for success in the BTCC
Josh said "The realisation that I will be lining up on the BTCC grid has not yet sunk in. I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Cruze and battle it out, although I am under no illusions of the challenge that lies ahead. The recent team changes at Power Maxed Racing, including the appointment of Martin Broadhurst as Team Manager, fill me with confidence that this will be a long and successful partnership."
Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal, commented: "I'm excited to have Josh on board, he's excelled throughout his career and it's great to be helping him realise his dream and his potential of racing in the BTCC. Josh will add a good dose of youth and enthusiasm to the team and I'm sure both he and Dave will keep each other on their toes and spur each other on."
