Adam Weaver with BTCC race winner Dave Newsham
On a cool but dry day at Rockingham, Dave Newsham and Power Maxed Racing boss Adam Weaver got their first chance to work together as they started the team's pre-season testing programme ahead of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season launch later this month at Donington Park.
After a day filled with trying different things under the eagle eye of Team Manager Martin Broadhurst, the team learnt a lot about the car and the challenges of a new car / new driver combination. The car was certainly up to the task and both Dave and Adam were confident that they had made the right choice. From the side-lines the car looked great and Martin's input is sure to improve an already excellent package.
Dave Newsham testing the Chevrolet Cruze saloon at Rockingham
Newsham told us "It was amazing - the car was so quick I was instantly impressed. The guys have done an outstanding job getting the car in that shape straight out of the box. If we can develop the car and improve it further then that will be a serious package going forward!"
Adam Weaver welcomed Dave to the car and was surprised just how quick his new team were. "Clearly Dave is a very quick driver - to be a multiple BTCC race winner proves that. Martin brings us tremendous leadership and experience, something we haven't had before. Put those two together with the new car and we believe we will surprise a few people. If we can be consistent in our efforts it will be a great season for Power Maxed Racing."
