Power Maxed Racing to provide the 'Inside Track' for 2015
By MJP Media | 16 March 2015
Following the news that Motorbase has taken a break from the British Touring Car Championship, we are pleased to welcome on board the newly restructured Power Maxed Racing as our 'Inside Track' BTCC columnists for 2015.
Power Maxed Racing to be our team columnists for 2015
Why did we choose Power Maxed Racing? Well, that was a simple decision. You may recall that in 2013 we had the Fans' Favourite driver Dave Newsham on board and his column went down a storm. Last year Dave won the Jack Sears Trophy - the biggest trophy (literally!) awarded to drivers in the championship.
We have been massively impressed over the winter with the intent shown by Power Maxed Racing, even more so since the team was bought out by Adam Weaver of Power Maxed. What was a sound team before, has become an ambitious team with some serious intentions in the series. Adam has brought in some big names to build on the team's existing strengths and move it forward.
Dave Newsham with the 2014 Jack Sears Trophy
Into the mix since last season has come Dave Newsham, a multiple race winning, trophy winning BTCC regular and former Renault Clio Cup Champion. Alongside him is 2014 Renault Clio Cup UK Vice Champion Josh Cook. A blend of the experienced and the young blood looks exciting and both are seriously quick, competitive drivers.
The recent team changes at Power Maxed Racing, including the appointment of Martin Broadhurst as Team Manager, show the intent and ambition that the team now has. Martin has lots of experience and a fabulous pedigree that will help everyone in the team. When we met up with Martin he was really looking forward to the season. "I can't wait to get started." he told us. "There is an enormous amount to be done but we know what we need to do and everyone involved is keen to move things forward."
Adam Weaver with Dave Newsham
Team Boss Adam Weaver is hugely driven and enthusiastic. "We aren't here to make up the numbers. We are looking at making this a very serious challenge and although we know there is hard work ahead, I have a fantastic crew, a great team manager and two very competitive drivers. We are sure we will surprise a few people this season." We think that they will too.
You can keep up to date with the team's progress in the 'Inside Track' column within the BTCC pages of the Mirror Online and the Daily Record Online.
