At the end of race 2, Jack Sears drew the number 6 ball for the random reverse grid for the final race of the day with pole position going to Jack Goff who will be joined on the front row by Sam Tordoff. Jason Plato and Andy Priaulx will start on row 2 with Adam Morgan and Colin Turkington on row 3. The heat of the day continued to play its part with an air temperature of 25 degrees and a track temperature of 30 degrees. Jason Plato led the championship at the start of the race with 213 points, a lead of 8 points over Colin Turkington.

Into the first corner Jack Goff retained his lead ahead of Andy Priaulx in 2nd, Jason Plato in 3rd and Sam Tordoff back in 4th. The four built a narrow lead on the first lap ahead of the heavily ballasted Mercedes Benz A-Class of Adam Morgan and Colin Turkington's Team BMR Volkswagen CC. Honda Yuasa Racing were again having a dismal day running 19th and 20th.

Behind Jack Goff, Jason Plato was able to wrestle second place from Andy Priaulx on lap two with Sam Tordoff in 4th and Colin Turkington up to 5th ahead of Adam Morgan in 6th. On lap 4, Adam Morgan ran wide and collected a polystyrene advertising board which attached itself to the front of the car and dropped him down to 9th place. At the end of the lap, as if things weren't bad enough for Honda Yuasa Racing, Gordon Shedden effectively retired the Honda Civic Type R and James Cole retired the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus. His team-mate Mat Jackson was having a much better race in 7th place.

At the halfway stage, both Andrew Jordan and Mat Jackson were able to overtake Colin Turkington to move Jordan to 5th and Jackson to 6th. At the front though, Jack Goff was still 1.9 seconds ahead of Jason Plato with Andy Priaulx 3rd and Sam Tordoff 4th. On lap 9, Hunter Abbott, who was in 11th, spun in the centre of the pack causing Dave Newsham to take evasive action, dropping him to 14th and Abbott to 17th.

Without any further major incident, the main players stayed in formation giving Jack Goff a maiden win in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship and a first win of the season for the MG 888 Racing team. Second was Jason Plato in the Team BMR Volkswagen CC and third was Andy Priaulx in his Team IHG Rewards Club BMW 125i M Sport.

Whilst Honda duo Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden struggled, the result of this weekend's great points haul for Colin Turkington, Jason Plato and Andy Priaulx is that Plato leaves Snetterton with a 16 point lead over Turkington in the Drivers' Championship with Gordon Shedden now back in 3rd place a further 16 points behind. With the championship this close, there will be added pressure on the top three as the battle resumes in two weeks' time at Knockhill in Scotland.
