Knockhill Preview - WIN TICKETS!
By MJP Media | 12 August 2015
The 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Knockhill near Dunfermline for the 7th meeting of the year on August 22nd and 23rd.
Gordon Shedden will be hoping for better fortune at Knockhill
For fans of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, Knockhill is always a popular venue. Its mixture of dips, crests, blind brows and off-camber surface, together with notoriously unpredictable weather, makes it a real challenge for the drivers and a fantastic spectacle for the viewing public!
Following a dominant performance last time out at Snetterton, Team BMR catapulted themselves to the top of the Drivers' Championship standings and now has their leading two drivers at the top of the table with Jason Plato ahead of team-mate Colin Turkington by 16 points. Honda Yuasa Racing on the other hand had a terrible time with both their drivers failing to score meaningful points at the Norfolk circuit, dropping them down the table. Gordon Shedden managed to take only 3 points from the weekend and now lies 3rd in the championship.
Inverness-based Dave Newsham in his Chevrolet Cruze
Scottish interest will once again be high heading to Knockhill with 2012 Drivers' Champion Gordon Shedden from Dalgety Bay keen to get his championship campaign back on track. Inverness-based Dave Newsham is a proven race winner at Knockhill, having won the final race of the day in 2012. Newsham moved to the Power Maxed Racing team for 2015 and is looking for his first win in the Chevrolet Cruze. Having been forced to sit out the three races at Snetterton following concussion sustained in the 2nd free practice session, Dalkeith racer Aiden Moffat will return to his home circuit driving his Laser Tools Racing Mercedes Benz A-Class.
In addition to Rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, there will be a full supporting programme of events at Knockhill including action from the Renault UK Clip Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship and the MSA Formula Championship. Catch all the race action on ITV4 or better still, get yourself to Knockhill and experience the whole spectacle for yourself.
Jason Plato currently leads the Drivers' Championship
