The Inside Track with Power Maxed Racing: Looking forward to Snetterton and the second half of the season
By Power Maxed Racing / MJP Media | 28 July 2015
Our next outing in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is the Norfolk circuit of Snetterton and we thought we'd throw our preview over to Dave and Josh for their thoughts.
Snetterton has undergone somewhat of a renaissance during recent years following a multi-million pound redevelopment project at the start of 2011 which was met with rave reviews from both spectators and drivers alike. Its combination of long straights and a wide variety of turns challenges both power and handling as we discovered on our recent test there.
Drawing inspiration from iconic motorsport corners such as Monza's Parabolica and the Montreal Hairpin, the Snetterton 300 circuit really does test teams and we believe that Dave and Josh will exploit their great talents and the cars inherent pace there.
Josh, who did the recent tyre test at the circuit, told us: "We learnt quite a lot at the recent tyre test. Although we were ostensibly testing the 2016 tyre, we got quite a bit of really useful data and were able to test some of our developments that we have been working on."
Josh continued: "We will probably have some more developments available prior to the race weekend which is good. Although we, like others, have struggled since the latest tyre was introduced early on in the season, there is no doubt that prior to that we were extremely competitive and we are looking to get back up to the front of the grid at a circuit which is good and technical."
Dave added: "I'm looking forward to getting the second half of the season under way. The team has tested during the break and I am confident that we have taken the car forward. I love Snetterton and I have great memories of my maiden BTCC win at the circuit. It would be nice to do that again, but one thing is for sure - we need to start scoring solid points again to put my top 10 in the championship back on track."
Both Dave and Josh agree that the team have had some bad luck this year so far, but they hope that it's behind them and they can start climbing back up the championship table to where they belong. Both drivers have been terrifically supportive of the team and feel that the car will do what they need going forward and we, as a team, are really looking forward to the future!
