The reverse grid draw flipped the top nine finishers of the previous race to form the grid for the final race of the day from Brands Hatch, giving Sam Tordoff pole position in his Team JCT600 with GardX BMW 125i M Sport alongside the WIX Racing Mercedes Benz A-Class of Adam Morgan. Jack Goff started on row two alongside Ashley Sutton with Mat Jackson and Andrew Jordan on row three ahead of Aron Smith, Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. Having retired early in race two, race one winner Tom Ingram had to start on the back row of the grid.

As the lights went out to start race three, Ashley Sutton got a slow get-away but fortunately was avoided by the cars which passed him. At the front, Sam Tordoff and Adam Morgan both got away well however Tordoff was immediately put under pressure from Morgan who took the lead at the end of the first lap.

The Safety Car was deployed on lap 2 to allow the recovery of Kelvin Fletcher's Power Maxed Racing Chevrolet Cruze by which time Rob Collard had already made his way up to 9th place, having started 16th on the grid in his Team JCT600 with GardX BMW 125i M Sport. Mat Jackson spun his Motorbase Performance Ford Focus whilst under Safety Car conditions after collecting a puncture.

When racing resumed, Adam Morgan extended a slender gap over Sam Tordoff who was being chased for 2nd place by Jack Goff in the Team IHG Rewards Club BMW 125i M Sport. Meanwhile, Rob Collard was still gaining places and was up to 6th by lap 8. Behind the front-runners, a battle was brewing for 4th place which was won by Matt Neal when he passed Andrew Jordan.

The race then settled down with Adam Morgan leading from Sam Tordoff who was under pressure from Jack Goff for 2nd place with Matt Neal 4th ahead of Andrew Jordan and Rob Collard. Gordon Shedden went off at Paddock Hill on lap 21, immediately ending his race. In the closing laps Morgan came under increasing pressure from Tordoff and Goff but managed to hang on to his lead to secure his 3rd BTCC career race victory.

Leaving Brands Hatch, the Halfords Yuasa Racing duo of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden top the championship table with Neal on 43 points and Shedden on 38. Following his excellent race three victory, Adam Morgan lies in 3rd place, just 1 point behind Shedden.
