The Inside Track with Silverline Subaru BMR Racing: Looking forward to continued success at Croft
By Team BMR / MJP Media | 16 June 2016
Colin Turkington, Jason Plato, Warren Scott and James Cole have their sights set on further success as we head north for Croft Circuit this weekend.
After a fabulous weekend at Oulton Park including our maiden win and a podium hat-trick, we are naturally confident after the considerable strides forward we made with the team's Subaru Levorg GT. All four cars will start the weekend ballast free as they currently sit outside the top ten in the championship.
Since the BTCC's maiden visit to Croft in 1997, our very own double BTCC champions Colin Turkington and Jason Plato have enjoyed success at the Yorkshire track by amassing a combined 14 wins and countless podiums. Colin also holds the current qualifying and race lap record that he set in 2014.
Off the back of our most successful meeting yet in 2016 we are full of confidence that the Levorg will hit the ground running this weekend at the mid-season point of the championship. Colin told us: "I've found great success in recent BTCC years at Croft and I look forward to it every year. It's always the last event before the halfway point and it's a good opportunity to make your intent known to the rest of the pack. Following on from our success at Oulton I will certainly arrive at Croft aiming high and it's important to capitalise when we have no success ballast. I've got some wind in my sails at the moment and I don't intend on taking my eye off the ball."
Jason added: "I'm really looking forward to Croft as well, the Subaru Levorg came alive at Oulton Park and we are excited at the prospect of continuing where we left off. If all goes well, I expect us to once again be challenging for podium places." James has a grin like a Cheshire cat: "The Subaru Levorg should really suit the Croft circuit. It's very much a RWD circuit and I believe we have the best RWD on the grid. Oulton Park was a great weekend for BMR and we are very much hoping for the same again. Every mile I have in the car I improve and I'm hoping we see all four Subarus far up the grid this weekend."
Warren was also upbeat: "Having had the weekend we had at Oulton Park the team are really looking forward to Croft and we head there feeling confident that we can challenge towards the front. The circuit should suit the Levorg and with the cars now showing good pace we are all hoping for another great weekend."
We would also like to offer our congratulations to Robert Collard and Gordon Shedden on their 400th and 300th races respectively. It is quite an effort as Jason knows and we hope to see you both in our mirrors at the weekend!
